Some thumbs on an idea for Transportation. I'm having a hard time choosing angles, choosing to use crinkled soda can or surfboard...any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! I know I've shown up out of the blue from time to time but I wanted to say hello to all and thanks to SVS for this platform. Art rules.

@fauxtoddgraphy I like the action in number 4, I would say probably not to number 1. The head on point of view is very difficult to pull off.

@fauxtoddgraphy I think you should have him surf on an old can like 4 or 5

Hi guys! Great idea to start a WIP thread. It's cool to learn from each other as we work through these. Here is my idea for the transportation theme: Witch-portation in the Modern Age

@bdyanne nice update! This feels much more dynamic!

@fauxtoddgraphy I like #4, but perhaps he could be coming out of a pipe

@holleywilliamson Neat idea! I think you need to bring the view down closer to the water, and make the bug and stone fill up more of the scene. Also, the person's stance is more of someone who is off balance or falling. Google some images on people skipping stones. Most people keep their body facing the direction they are throwing, leaning in the direction of the throwing arm as they fling the stone past their bent leg. Lastly, fewer contact points on the water would make the skipping more believable (there are too many too close together). Maybe lose the first, third, and fifth ripples, and they should be in a direct line between the thrower and the stone.

@bdyanne like this update!

My first sketch (also my first post in the Forum). Just pencil and ink for now. Any feedback is welcome!

Here is my WIP for the Transportation contest. Been a fan of steampunk for a while, so that is part of my theme with this. The machine is a transporter, and the city is what will show in the transporter's portal (larger circular area). The small thumbnail is where I am at with the composition. And lastly, the character is the scientist who created the machine.
