SVS does Inktober 2018
-
Here's my day 1: Poisonous. This is my first Inktober, and so far I'm loving it!
-
I'm not very inky - but I have to admit I had so much fun doing this. It worked up fairly quickly and I really need to find some time this week to do more. I used inktense for the washes and some detail, plus an ink marker. I just had to throw a little bit of colour in there too. Love what everyone has created so far and am looking forward to a month of inky creations from you all.

Day 2: Tranquil
I originally struggled with this drawing. I didn't want to do a typical 'tranquil' landscape of mountains and water, or someone meditating which (according to Google image search) everyone relates to tranquility.
For me, tranquility is finding peace and enjoying the little things. I wanted to capture that in this artwork. It was a lot of fun.

Woo hoo! I'm happy to be participating with everyone here this year. It's fun seeing everyone's interpretations so far!
Day 01: Poisonous
-
Here are my day 1 and day 2. Like last year I kept a consistent style through the whole month. This year pushing the style a little more.
-
@chrisaakins @TessaW Thanx guys. I appreciate that.
-
Working on a theme of "Beasts of Burden" - I ran to watercolor with this one, but I think from here on out I want to rely on just ink.
So cool to see everyone's work on this!
-
Day 2. The robots did most things for the creatures of Pandamonium.
-
@judy-elizabeth-wilson aww thats so cute!
-
Day 2 The fleeting nature of tranquility
-
@chip-valecek cool tranquil! I like the paper
-
@miss-beans sweet!

Day 2: Tranquil! Jigokudani Yaen-koen National Park in Japan is best known for it's large population of Japanese Macaques that like to spend the coldest months of the year chillaxing in the natural hot springs.

Inktober 2018 Animals Day 2 Tranquil
I sketch with pen that way I don’t have to keep erasing however the lines bleed through. I am not that bothered by them.
-
I just keep on sketching for as long as it last - so this would be day 2. This guy was selling beads and trinkets off a canoe just before the shoreline (in the water) - because it´s forbidden to peddle on the beach where I am now in Sardegna! So, he had found his solution. It was a real character: more than 6 feet tall, hunched and stiff, with bathing shorts and loose fishing boots...I sketched him while he was peeling an orange as a snack.

Seeing everyone's work made me want to post too! My theme this month is Flora & Faces, and I'm using flower symbolism to tie in somewhat with the prompts. If you go to my instagram there are actually short poems to go with them. First day for Poisonous is Atropa Belladonna/Deadly Nightshade, and the second day for Tranquil is the Spathiphyllum/Peace Lily. I've wanted to participate for so long but have been intimidated by ink, haven't had a good concept, and haven't been able to stick with it past the first week. But I've actually planned a head this time, so wish me luck!

Heres my mushroomman for tranquil. I’m starting to think the brushpen isn’t for me. I’m posting daily on instagram. Same name if people want to follow me, swordofodin

@chrisaakins This is so sweet! I love the addition of the lettering; that's something I would love to do some time as well.
