Just playing with character ideas for a story of mine
#TimerTuesday 2019 Number 4 was a portrait so I have a 1 hour long (Sunday), a 1.5 hour long (yesterday) and decided to try black and white and practise blending so its a practise WIP (today).
I also made pencil drawings of my two Inktobers for my neighbour. I found out she didnt want painted copies (which I already painted one in gouache/pencil crayon) but no matter I redid them. I don't have them scanned yet.

Getting ready to transfer my collaboration with @kaitlinmakes to watercolor paper. Old school. Who still colors the whole backside of their art for transferring?
So just completed my black and white practise portrait to work on blending (really does help in grey scale -question? Is there an SVS class that explains how to turn grey scale to colour? I have been trying YouTube videos but find them not as helpful as I'd like). I also used Liquefy better and only if I had to. Thanks (roughly 3 hours).

@Heather-Boyd The 10 step digital painting course does somewhat. Will Terry does a traditional "Grisaille" method, but digital. It's a good baseline. If you look a bit into that approach you'll see that greyscale first, as the grisaille technique, subjugatess your color to your value very strongly and tends to be used most in tight academic styles. If you want the focus on the color and not to lose the subtle color shifts of the face, you may need to focus on value matching but repaint with opaque color.
Fixed some wonky perspective. Gonna finish this one for mebbe portfolio.
Right now I've decided I need to do more "master study" copies, so I'm starting with my first-ever favorite illustrator, Brett Helquist.

Do you guys ever draw the face construction and then add mouth and eyes? It always looks creepy to me.
My wife says she never wants another cat after the two we have. But when she goes to the pet store she wants to take home every fleabag there.
