      I wonder if what you do with the tapestry has to do with what story you're telling with the image. Where do you want the emphasis to be? Is it on the globe? The pirate? The girl? If the story you're telling is actually about the tapestry behind them, that might dictate what you do with it...

        Ah, @Coreyartus that's a good point....Although I feel it would be so difficult to tell a story with the small segment that we see of the tapestry. But I should give it a shot. Is it weird to say that my emphasis is the look between the two characters? (second one is a white blob right now) Edit: I WILL FIGURE THIS OUT. I AM DETERMINED ๐Ÿ˜‚

                    @Perrij

                    Not to nit pick but where the blue handle of the jar meets the table cloth bothers me as a tangent.

                    Iโ€™d say push through and try to remember what sparked your interest and try to rekindle that feeling or whatever so it will help you finish. Nothing like not finishing to deter you from going into a new work and not having enough momentum to finish it.

                      @Heather-Boyd ooh crimeny you're right heather, that's an awful tangent. Not nitpicky at all, I appreciate it. I'll have to take care of that soon... But I did a little more work. Rofl I think Im updating this thread too often, oh well! It helps me push forward

                        You are so not. Love seeing your progress!
                        I agree about the tangent, but other than that, outstanding work!

                            @Amanda-Jean and @MichaelaH oh thank you so much both of you, so kind of you to stop in here and give me some encouragement. Sometimes you feel like you're trying to make it all on your own, so it means a lot to have you along for the ride

                              So close to being DONE! I just need to figure out what pattern I want on the captain's big robe. Hm! He's supposed to have made his coat out of a tapestry...Still deciding how to balance that much detail....Welp, maybe I'll finish it tonight...WIP.png

                                @Perrij I like your composition and colors very muchโ€”is it possible to bring the wall tapestry in front of the rod at the corners without too much reworking? Right now it looks to me a bit like the rod is going through the head of the figure in the foreground.

                                  Looking fully amazing, love it, like @BichonBistro wrote, I would also put the tapestry in front.

                                          I really like the bored pirate's expression, and for some reason I keep going back to those subtle hints of pinks and blues in the wall. Lovely!

                                            Thank you!! Thank you so much everyone!! I can finally say it's done, and on to the next one! @BichonBistro and @MichaelaH I appreciated the feedback and changed the tapestry. I didn't want to fold the curtain over the rod COMPLETELY because it created too many blocky square shapes. So hopefully came to a good compromise. Thanks for pointing that out. illius_room_small.png
