How to Ink Group Runthrough Week 3

@chrisaakins That's also good. Means I can use whichever one I feel like
-
Doing some test subjects for my Inktober project. Character study on a balloon. Iβm thinking simple is better. Itβs going to be the only color in the whole project so I think value lines might jam it up. Although I do like #2 as well as #3, Counterclockwise from the bottom left
-
@ambiirae sorry for the delayed reply. Itβs a new one they released for Inktober. I think itβs just an inking demo for follow along purposes. Havenβt gone through yet, been busy with kids. Hoping to make it happen this weekend.
-
@burvantill Very nice! i was gonna compliment your badoons even before I read your comment
I'm partial to the simplest middle one, too. It's the one that says 'shiny' to me the most.

I shamelessly stole practice ideas from you people posting your work lol and did a bit of practice today. Hopefully that's ok!!!!!
I have been doing scattered bits of inking, mostly I am just trying to get some sketches done for some of the prompts, hoping to get at least 6 days of participating in, hopefully 10. Being new to illustration I am working very slowly doing tons of thumbnails and research and trying to have decent composition and perspective too............ -
My daily practice today. Got a bit side tracked from the form line practice. I was trying to figure out something I would like to do for inktober. I might try to use ink to paint for this inktober. Excited to continue the value and light and shadow practice next week. I think I might try with ink wash to make value and light/shadow.

@chrisaakins -I can see you progress-but I am stunned and envious of how you turn this practice/exercise into a composition with variety and interest. Love it
-
Here is my practice. You can tell what I've been watching on TV. Also footballs are surprisingly hard to draw.
@Susan-Marks thanks for your kind words!
-
Did some simple practice today. It is definetly starting to feel better
probably do some more but figured I better get my photo in before we loose power to this thunder storm
This was my favorite for today
Thinking of doing 31 pups of october based off our 4 month old pup Cujo

When it comes to practice, there is no stealing, only sharing
-
@xin-li I think an ink wash is a great idea
kinda like watercolour but much more awesome!

oblate spheroids are the bane of my existence. Yours looks pretty awesome, though

Little by little, slowly but surely
I feel exactly the same way.

@Braden-Hallett thanks!
still thinking over how I wanna go about it but sort of leaning more cartoonish with costumes
-
@ambiirae I like your balloons. I was having a tough go of it shading my balloons. Your dark one turned out good.
-
@Braden-Hallett I know. I never really tried doing ink wash. I often admire artists who can make something so suggestive, but looks so casual. It is almost like a magic for me. I probably will fail terriblely, but I hope I will learn a thing or two.
-
@Braden-Hallett whew, lol
Actually I was listening to the podcasts a bunch this week and a few times they talked about copying for practice as a way to learn so I figured I'm going for it ha ha.
-
For daily practice today, I found some really old brushes (I think it was acrylic paint brushes), and practice ink wash on copy paper.
I actually bought some small watercolor board with an intension to try out ink wash. But somehow it was so much easier to get started messing around on the regular copy papers. Do you guys have "expensive art supply anxiety"? -
@xin-li YES!
