#fauxInktober - Who’s with me?

Hi, everyone! So for the first time, I’m going to join Inktober. However, here’s the catch, I’m not going to do any inking at all! Sacrilegious, I know.

I just want to put this out in the open. I am not going to use ink traditionally or digitally. I’m actually not going to ink any of my work for this challenge. People might think it’s a shameless thing to do, exploiting even, and to be frank, it is! I just want to join in on the fun of Inktober and perhaps benefit a bit.

I don’t really use inking on my pieces and I don’t plan on integrating them in soon. I inked when I was just starting but I gradually departed from that style a little while back. I want to add the work I’ll create this Inktober into my portfolio. However, I don’t want to make art that’ll look different from my current work. I want them to be cohesive. So, I’ve decided to use my current style while following the daily prompts. @Jake-Parker I hope you’re fine with this.

My work will be a fake/ imitation of Inktober. So inorder to distinguish my work from those who will do Inktober the right way, I’ve decided to call it #fauxInktober. I’ve heard this term floating in the internet for quite sometime and it’s quite fitting for what I’m going to do.

So to all of you who are planning to join Inktober without the actual inking, join me! We’re not going to ink but we are going to make art everyday for the whole month of Inktober and we’re going to have fun. Join #fauxInktober!

Yup. I already started laying out but I know I won't be able to make it by the end of October. It is more like and "Inkautumn" for me

I'm still struggling with inking lol, I have sketches done for 10 prompts, not sure how they will look inked and I'm expirimenting anyhow so I may join for some! I might end up doing a bit of both real and fake inktobers lol!!! Cool idea to have it;s own hashtag!

Oh man it's tempting! I like the tag #fauxinktober. I get a little irritated when people use the #inktober tag and aren't doing ink at all. #fauxinktober seems appropriate though for those who aren't into ink but want to join in on the party. Love it!

Put me down as a "maybe"! I want to join in on the rebellion but need to clear out some other art commitments first.

I think that sounds great, love your #fauxinktober idea. I love inking but it's more of a hobby because I don't use it in my professional work, so I've been thinking about doing something similar. I'm think mine's going to be a #gouachetober.

On the topic of #fauxinktober and well this months contest, as in I want to draw characters better, are their any online references you have found helpful to aid in drawing them. I am currently taking posing characters, the bean shape etc... and there are two other character classes on svs but I don’t want to overwhelm myself trying to tackle and improve on them.

@Nyrryl-Cadiz I know what You mean, inking isn't my style either and doesn't fit my portfolio, mabye I will try doing inking for inktober or doing my style with inktober promts...will think about it next week.
