Hi. I am writing to introduce myself and share a little about myself.

I am 21 years old and joined SVS Learn a few months ago to get formal illustration training. This is after I've spent three years studying a rather underwhelming Graphic Design Diploma in my hometown. I am still living with my parents and am looking to leave as soon as I secure work. My course completed earlier this year and so I'm not sure what's next for me, all I'm looking for is work. I have always enjoyed drawing with an interest in illustrating children's books. I am also doing Inktober which is great!

At the beginning of this year, I was approached by a unpublished author who has written a series of children's books. He had heard that I study Graphic Design and inquired about my interest to illustrate the books he had written. One book first. Then see from there. I read through the manuscript and accepted to do it. We met over coffee to discuss the books. We have a good understanding. I did the character designs which were approved. We settled on one of the books to illustrate. The idea is to have one book fully illustrated by the end of the year to be able to present to potential publishers. Self publishing is not an option at this time. The book is 24 pages and its equivalent to a $1000 job with royalties agreement. I know its not much but considering I don't have much of a portfolio to show, I'm pleased.
I am currently a few pages in and feel like I need some critiques to make sure I'm on track as I really want to do a good job for this book and I don't want to regret drawings later on because of my inexperience. The stories almost have a 'Thomas and Friends' feel to them. I don't have any contacts in this field and so I really appreciate this forum. Would it be OK if I put my actual drawings for the book up for reviews and critiques here on the forum? I wont be able to show script but I would really appreciate feedback on the drawings.

      Thanks
      Stefan
