And for EXTRA CREDIT I also designed his revolver, which is also semi-cobbled together with old revolver parts and modern plasma gun parts. Untitled_Artwork 7.jpg

Hello! This is my first time posting on here, but this is my prop design I came up with for the intro to prop design course. I've been really getting into dnd and playing Baldur's Gate 3 so I thought I'd do something inspired by a place in it called the Underdark, a very whimsical area full of mushrooms and crystals and honestly one of my favorite areas in the game.
I'll try not to go into too many lore relatd details but essentially, this is where my character in game lived, so I figured these props are what you could expect to find in her home.
I'm honestly pretty proud of it! I'd be interested to know what you all think, any feedback is greatly appreciated!

      ?

@Olivia-Yerxa sorry your request for critique has been overlooked. I think that is because you did a decent job of capturing the room in two-point perspective. The viewer certainly gets a sense of the space and the furniture in it.

For what it’s worth, I have a few suggestions you may want to consider.

First, your vanishing points are too close together causing the scene to be very dynamic and results in an extreme wide-angle lens effect. This is akin to placing a camera too close to a scene; it creates some distortion. In a bedroom scene it is often desirable to convey a calm and serene view. The fix is to move your VP’s quite a bit further apart.

Second, would be all of the circles are not aligned with an awareness of the perspective context you’ve created. The degree of foreshortening is not correct for each plane and the alignment of the minor diameter is not correct either. These are refinements but I think you see how they can lift your drawing to the next level.

Again, sorry you had to wait so long to get a reply.

Here are my before and after houses for the "How to Draw Everything" course. There's definitely a lot of things to still learn and improve on (3-D and perspective 😰 ), but I do see a lot of growth already!

      Hi!

I’m working on Assignment 2: People as Shapes from the Introduction to Gesture Drawing class. I've completed 12 out of the 20 required drawings so far. I’ve attached a few of the stronger ones from this batch and would greatly appreciate any constructive feedback you can offer. I’m eager to improve my skills and would value your insights.

Here are the drawings. I’d love any feedback you have!

      Thanks!

Question: I bought the Self Publishing Pro course and had to miss the last two zoom sessions. I just went there to watch them and the zoom sessions are already gone. Is there anywhere to go to still watch the ones I missed, sessions 8 and 9?

2 House drawings from the "How to Draw Everything" Class.
1st one before the class (in pencil) was done in 15 minutes.
Sorry, the 2nd one at the end of the class took 30 minutes - yeehaw - couldn't keep in the time zone.
Could probably revisit the combining of shapes such as cubes, triangle, and spheres.
