It seems like this is a pretty difficult subject for most people. Including myself. It's like I'm trying to force My round ideas into a square box. they never seem to fit right. I started the assignment over like 10 times. Anyway I think it's looking good. I like how you stuck a teddy bear into the room. I did the same thing. Haha.

@Nyrryl-Cadiz Thank you so much for the encouraging words! I really worked hard on it, and it looks like the hard work paid off. πŸ™‚

@Ari-Sorokin definitely! Procreate and an ipad pro would be perfect. Though you can still work using paper and a pencil

@carlianne I really like what you did here! She's definitely "clutching those flowers happily", haha. The facial expression is perfect. Maybe if you pushed the pose a little more like in the gesture you did; it would give her that little bit of added energy. You're doing some great and expressive work over here πŸ˜ƒ

      Hi Everyone,

I have completed 'how to draw everything' and now just finished the basic perspective class. Perspective has never been my forte - I didn't really take an interest in it at college but now I wish I had as I realise how important it is not only for illustration but for my art in general. That's why I'm pushing on and methodically going through the classes step by step instead of galloping ahead to level 2. I struggled with deciding where to start and what view I was after but I think I got there in the end. So here's my final project, drawn with pencil and paper on a lap tray - not the easiest way trying to line up three rulers to a vanishing point!! Any thoughts welcome thanks.

@Diane-Kond It's very dramatic - I like it -reminds me of my old black and white photography but I do agree with @Neha-Rawat about the lack of light detail on his face -it doesn't need to be full -just a bit more touch on the features.

Hello Everyone! I'm still working on the other assignments for Lee White's Light and Shadow class. Just want take this time and post my favite artists comparison chart I created in Powerpoint, since I currently don't have photoshop at the moment. These are just a few of my favorite artists who's work I admire.

Hi everyone, I'm brand-new to drawing (about a month in) but am loving the SVS courses--so far I've taken the Draw Everything Class, and just finished the Basic Perspective class. I'm posting my attempt at the final 2-point perspective assignment--I'm pretty happy with it, but definitely see areas for improvement. Mainly posting for accountability, but any thoughts or tips welcome!

Here’s another attempt at the room to see if I can rein in my distortion problem.

      91B33555-A418-4C52-B315-2906DF461C80.png
This time I began by drawing a cube that was more in the middle of the room (the closest corner of the bed), then I worked off of that. Most of it feels better, but the toy chest feels too tall/narrow to me.

The image above feels a bit too β€œtall” to me, so I resized it by squeezing it vertically (below). Feels a bit better.
