Moses is a good start! The running superhero is a bit odd.

If you will be drawing "superhero" or action type pictures you need to look at a lot of anatomy. The body is very fluid especially in action images.

Do a quick search on action running drawing and you will find many rough drawings/thumbnails on how the body is positioned when running.

i was also going to comment on making the foreground darker. and I would make the lighted areas lighter, that way you have three values, light for background, middle tones for cows, and dark for the foreground

Here is my update. I decided to change the perspective to focus on the more important pieces. I went with blocking in with paint rather than lines so that I could work on my values.

You have a lot of expression in your piece. I like your loose line work.
You might want to try some more contrast. What would it look like if the kids in the foreground were darker? It seems a bit washed out to me.

Hi @Mara! Actually it's not you. The images is actually very sharp, but the resolution got all jacked up because the file was too big. This PNG format looks much better. The image isn't done, yet but at least it's not as fuzzy. LOL

@mattramsey thanks a lot. After you first commented on my other post, it really steered me in the right direction. I was on the fence for awhile but I know I made the best decision to take more time and make the book something I can really be proud of. I really appreciate you giving your honest opinion.

I'm giving myself the whole rest of the year to get this done ( Although I see it getting done sooner ) Between the 9 -5 job and sharing custody of my kids, there never seem to be enough hours in the day. LOL But luckily the many hours I spend on this project each week never seems like work to me : )

Really beautiful work. I love the concept in the first image and the use of color in the second is really nice. Is the texture just an overlay with photo of some watercolor paper?

Your work is always amazing. On the long one my eyes go to the chair and then the window. On the small one my eyes go to the helmet. I think that is just me because I like blues and lavenders. Your characters design is fantastic! Great pieces for your portfolio.
