You could set up a WordPress and use the WooCommerce plugin.

I'm old school in terms of gifts. Any client I work with any year that has paid whatever threshold makes sense - like $3000 or more gets a gift with a card at the end of the year. They're always small, like small basket with nuts or chocolates or wine or something. I can guarantee you are maybe 1 in 100 that are still doing it and it's one more touch point with your clients. I've just found consistently that doing things like this, even just sending emails to check in and see how they're doing, go a long way in getting callbacks down the road.

@K-Flagg It looks like there are a few different versions, which is quite interesting. Yours looks to be Dixit: Journey and has a different artist to the original Dixit which we have. Ours is 12 years old so newer versions may have has a bit of an update.

Just found this explaining them if you ever fancied a different version and also the expansion packs if you wanted to add any to yours. (I sound like a salesperson for this game 😂)

Well, fiverr is terrible and I agree that we should not feed that platform in any way. I had a gig there some years ago just to try, and... well, let's not go that way because I would be trashing fiverr on so many levels that would be depressing.
Upwork may be a good platform though.

But I agree that the person seems to need to make some serious research before.

Hello! I don't know anything about twitter so I'll only speak about Instagram. I started working on my instagram about a year and a half ago and just reached 20,000 followers! Here are some of my tips:

In addition to the course, listen to the podcast about social media as well, I found them both helpful even though a lot of information was repeated.

In the beginning, it does help to try and post a few times a week, or daily if you can manage it. I would prioritize Thursday - Sunday if not daily (Thursday is randomly one of the best days to post). When you post more often Instagram will share your work more.

As others said, you don't have many images up yet, so you'll want at least 9 up there before people will really consider your account active enough to start following it. Your last 4 posts were consistent, but your first two posts are really different so that might also be confusing people who might be interested in following you.

Promote to your friends and family that you have an instagram! Share it on your facebook or what not, often the first 100 followers are people that you know.

New features will always be highly promoted by the algorithm, so if you can figure out how to do reels those are getting a boost right now because they are the newest feature.

But for me the thing that I felt like really made everything "cilck" was understanding that it means to make "valuable" content. You'll hear this recommended by every article or person that you hear talk about how to make a successful social media account. I didn't really understand what that meant as an artist - if my art is good enough is it therefore valuable? For myself, what I came to realize is that "valuable content" means creating "sharable" content. You will only get so far with your own reach, if your instagram is inpiring and people to share it with others your reach will increase exponentially. Comics do well because they make people laugh, or feel understood and they want to share that with others. Tutorials or tips do well because people find them helpful and want to share. An illustration if it causes an emotional impact can do the same.

You can also participate in challenges and DITYS because the person hosting might then share your work.

There are of course other ways but that's been my thought process when creating my media accounts.

Hello , I wanted to make a suggestion about the website and how I find it’s lacking when it comes to my personal account . I would like to see an option where I could save a list of the classes I want to take to stay organized and motivated to a working plan and that I don’t have to go scrolling through all the classes to find the next one I want to take . Also the in progress classes I’m taking to have them in a list. I know you have a in progress option but at least on my account it does not show the courses I am in progress but a lot of other random classes. So to sum it up to help the student be more organized and motivated and have their class plan in one place and not written down in a notebook somewhere to have a in progress class list option and a favorite class list option for future classes you want to take. Cause let’s face it , most of us artist on no very well organized 😅 at least in my case.

@NessIllustration I couldn't agree more Ness! I phrased it like that in response to Braden's comment. I suppose what I really mean is - 'historically I haven't marketed myself effectively' I don't really believe that means I'm always doomed to 'suck' at it. Even compared to this time last year I know 100x more about marketing thanks to doing some more research and taking online classes. Your youtube channel is also a great resource 😁

As far as breaking "Step One" into two pieces, that could work. For me, though, after realizing that "Step One" and the "Cheese Heist" were sequential, I wanted to know what happened after the heist. Were they successful? Did they get caught? Did things not turn out as planned? Having that third piece in the sequence could "finish" the story you show in your portfolio and that might be more satisfying for super curious viewers like me.

P.S. - I LOVE illustrating happy characters too -- showing a variety of emotions is something that I'm also working on in my portfolio.
