It is my understanding that If they are asking for you to submit through an email they provide, definitely do that but you could also send them a postcard if you choose. That’s what I’m doing. It can’t hurt. I stopped sending packets of multiple printed images and am sticking to just the post card. I like the idea that the postcard will be seen by everyone who touches it before it gets to its destination. 🙂

@BichonBistro thank you. I am sending in the book cover on Monday - a bit of detail left on the cover. Then I am done with the book. I will go for a walk in the forest to celebrate :-).

@idid People do get work from the fair but it doesn't always happen. Usually in the meeting if a publisher likes your work they ask you to email them a PDF of your work later. This happened to me but unfortunately I didn't get any response after that!
I haven't had work from going to the fair yet, but it is still a valuable experience to network and see what is doing well in the childrens book industry. To be honest I was still a university student when I went and I don't think my work was good enough. Maybe when I go this year, fingers crossed! :face_with_stuck-out_tongue_closed_eyes: I've already had an agent reach out to me who wants to meet me in Bologna :smiling_face_with_open_mouth_smiling_eyes:

@idid That is true about "books only". I just had a chat with my lit agent about how everything that is not specifically picture books are projects that I'll handle myself.

I recall trying to read this book of collected fairy tales when I was in elementary school, but the writing was a bit of a slog... I was much much more interested in the art. Janet and Anne Graham Johnstone were the sibling artists, and their work made a HUGE impact on me in ways that I didn't really understand until I grew up.

I did not get that part ! then maybe a gourmet basket ? depending on where they live and also if they can give you their adress because many countries also have uber eats/alternatives so if you sure they are home you can also send them lunch that way ! Or you can mail them a little something from your part of the world as well.

Hi, I was looking at your website. it seems you have a style that relies heavily on line work and another style that relies on rendering shapes with shadow and highlights.

What style are you trying to do here? I would like to see what this piece will look like with more defined line work before you do your value studies.

This is a great thread! I I bought the 10.5 iPad pro 256 G from Best Buy on Black Friday over two years ago. I think I got almost $300 off the original price 🙂 I love it! I use it way more than my 8 year-old PC and Wacom. I travel a ton, so the smaller size and lighter weight has been a good fit for me. I don't have the cellular version. Like others, I just use my iPhone hotspot. I've only used about 80 G so far but I also have Cloud back up. Good luck Laura!

@Nyrryl-Cadiz I have always admired artists who does this type of snow art. I do not know how one can do that, and what kind of thinking process it looks like. I guess that is why I connect that with something amazing and unique.

I had a decent printer before and was running an ETSY shop. Then one day I signed a book contract, and have to stop ETSY shop for a while due to time limitation. Then my printer got clogged and can't be cleaned, so I have to retire it.

Also wonder if any one has experience on investing/keeping a prof-printer or use drop services.
