I had an idea yesterday for an image, but it doesn't fit the #Advent_challenge prompts and it's still very vague. After I finish organizing my life a bit post-Slowvember, I'll decide between the Advent challenge and developing my idea, and then I'll post the results! Thanks for your feedback and I'll look forward to seeing what you guys decide to do as well!

@Braden-Hallett Yep, I have been confused about sizing because I did a bunch of research, some designers said 600dpi, others 400dpi and others 300dpi. This is a new venture I've been planning all yearand am finally about to jump in.πŸ™‚

@xin-li I do this but I feed the paper through the manual feed at the back so it doesn't have to get picked up by the roller

@Amanda-Bancroft I don't think they have a class specifically for that. If you are looking for some specific information on the subject let me know. I work with this sorta stuff all the time for work.

@cytheria-keh The Huion Kamvas range is very good ,they have a laminated screen now which is nice and really nice pen pressure.I also have a XP pen 22HD for a few years which I loved but I there seems to be something wrong with the colour which I cant fix so long term I would not recommend it.

@Basil-Godevenos I totally understand. Full time art teacher here with wife and grad school. My kids are grown, though, and the grandbaby lives out of state. So my time spent here is sporadic.

@Hui-Li no personal experience to share with you I'm afraid, I'm just passing on what I've heard from others. I'd just be sure to make it as simple as possible to see the art and to pin it up, as Erin said.

I'm deeply grateful to all responses and will apply your suggestions. And I do find the content SVS offers valuable and will get started on that as well.

      Thank you.

I've used Prismacolor Premier exclusively in the past, but they break too much and slowed down my illustration work, so based on recommendations, I now use Prismacolor mixed with Faber-Castell Polychromos. Polychromos don't break and have their lightfast rating printed on each pencil using a series of stars so you know right away, no chart needed. I only use Prismacolor when I need a certain color I can't find in Polychromos.

Shout-out to other colored pencil / pencil crayon / coloured pencil artists on the forum! Excited to see others using a medium I actually know. Karen Hull was mentioned, and she is one of my icons and role models! She does excellent work in children's books, portraits, animals, experimenting with non-paper drawing surfaces.

@TessaW don’t know exactly, depends on your location and the service used. Mail is cheapest, but I feel like it’s also more risky. UPS costs more, but seems safer. Want me to pack it up and get an estimate on shipping to your zip code? You can send it to me in a private chat, I believe.

@theprairiefox Thanks so much for the info! Asmodee is the one that distributes Dixit, I'm fairly certain, so that's good to know!

I will write down Gen Con as a potential thing to attend in 2020, if I have the finances I'll definitely give it a shot! I need to attend more cons as opposed to tabling at them, I never seem to do quite the networking that I mean to when I'm stuck at a table all weekend.

@Lee-White @Will-Terry @Jake-Parker For the monthly contests, there is not a size limit listed on the forum announcement, but on there IS on the blog/announcement. If I have been submitting photos larger than the less than 500kb size would I have been disqualified all these times? (Not that I think I would have met the standards before, but this time I think my piece is stronger but it is 589kb). Do I need to resize it and resubmit it?
