Since these are a different style than I usually share on the forum, I'll provide a little backstory. This week will be the first time that my full team will be back in the office in 6 months, so this weekend, I decide to make my 4 co-workers Ninja Turtle portraits as desk-warming gifts. I've been a graphic designer for the last 12 years, so I don't really feel like I'm firing on all creative cylinders unless I'm in a groove, jumping between hand drawn and digital, Illustrator and Photoshop, design and illustration. Now that this is out of my system, I'm ready to jump back on the brush pen and knock out my Ink Fairy for the contest!

My husband just surprised me with and iPad Pro and an Apple Pencil, so I am exploring the world of digital art for the first time. I’m working my way through Will Terry’s procreate class. My first attempt at trying to use layers went horribly wrong. πŸ˜† But, I’m starting to get it. I was feeling like everything was looking way to tight and rigid, so I decided yesterday to start a series of timed pleinair paintings. 45 minutes- an hour only. Here’s the first one. I think it could use a more defined focal point. Maybe get a bit darker around the edge?

@Coley this is just so perfectly cute! In my card line I have sketches for a mouse taking a bubble bath in a teacup (tea themed line) but it may not pass development stage, we'll see. Thanks for sharing your work!

I wanted to participate in all 9 days of #thegreatoutdoordays2020 and post during this week. I was able to finish 2 of them and plan to return after I finish Lee's Light and Shadow class to see through to the rest.

All done yay πŸ˜ƒ Tried to keep it to under 3 hours for each painting and managed to achieve that for all except the 2 headed one (not my choice to make a 2 headed dino)

Just picked up Clip Studio to play around with it. Here's the first attempt at my normal process (as it stands today anyway hah).

Really gotta say the inking and pencil tools are pretty epic. Still not sure about the painting tools, but I definitely does give it a lot of texture/style.
