Here’s without
-
Ok moving on I think
-
@asyas_illos fabulous!
-
@Asyas_illos your prolific-ness is such an inspiration!! Your treatment of all of these concepts are lovely, memorable and very consistent in style. Sorry to hear of your car mishap.
-
@jenn thanks for the sympathyit was a bummer but, these illustrations are the result of the much needed artistic therapy from it.
-
@jenn I also greatly enjoy the one word prompts it leaves so much more space to be creative.
-
Working on another entry with a lucky goldfish as the theme and I’ve narrowed it down to these two roughs any thoughts on composition or which you like more? They will be spot illustrations not full page
-
Or if there is another POV you think I should try?
-
I like both of these view points but I'm trying to vary the povs I do because I tend to do a lot of straight on angles, so I’m going to work with this one for now. So goldfish are known to be symbols of luck and prosperity, my story is this little girl going to buy a lucky goldfish, who coincidentally is the ugliest fish in the tank, so he is also feeling lucky for being chosen. Although that last bit might be a bit harder to illustrate from this angle, I guess we’ll see how it goes! I also am eliminating hard line work except for detailing and just using paint this time and I found a brush that I am loving giving a scratchy feel. Ok enough gabbing…
-
I'm wondering if adding these guys Will distract from the main story and create too many focal points. What do you think? I fell in love with some toucan shoes and now I want to put them everywhere lol, help me! I was kinda hoping the vibe would be like “out of all the things in this pet store she wants the plain old goldfish…”
-
So this is where I am today, still struggling with the storytelling I think. Right now its just a girl buying a goldfish, any ides how I can elaborate? Maybe a parent in the background trying to persuade her to get something else? I don't want to over complicate it but I know it needs something else… a toucan maybe?
-
So finally found my story with the goldfish… tell me what you see based off this very rough sketch. (Knowing goldfish are supposed to be good luck of course)
-
Does this perspective seem ok? I brought it out a tiny bit so it could breathe a little more. I’ve never been good with perspective I think it’s like a math thing, I can’t ever wrap my brain around it! No matter how times I try to do the classes. Luckily for the most part I can fake it pretty well especially if I’ve got reference.
-
@asyas_illos This is a cute sketch for sure, and I like the POV you chose. I'm finding the Lucky prompt really tough to nail down storytelling-wise. It's really hard to convey that someone is lucky BECAUSE of something.
-
@valerie-light l am having trouble with that too my first two entries I had to rely on the speech bubbles without them I don’t think they would convey what I intended
-
Moving along with the second to the series…
-
Ok sending this one in! I do want to ask if you guys think my character is consistent. I think I might do one more for good practice
-
This started out as sketch for "Riley" but with little magic and "bad luck” I now have another entry in the works. Do you have any feed back as far as story or composition? I cant remember what the guys said about illustrating the moment. Is it better just before, during or after? I did two positions for the bird indicating either the moment before or during. Which do you think is better?
-
@Asyas_illos those little birds are everywhere, aren’t they? Heh. So position 1 doesn’t tell me it will end up at position 2. However, since the collision just took place, or so it seems, was she already riding off the hill?
-
@crispalomino lol yes they doing an epic jump!
