I am giggly. I created my first special effect lettering this evening. Nothing spectacular, but effective, I think. Hee hee. I am very truly enjoying every aspect of comic making. Here is the finished page with the SFX. =)x

I've been working on this page for a while now. It's getting there slowly but surely. Every time I dedicate an hour I can really see myself getting closer to completing it but I find staying motivated difficult.
Lately I just want to go off and paint my own personal work for fun lol. This is something I really need to work on (developing volition) to complete the things I actually need to get done. Part of me is also worried that once I finish it, it won't live up to my hopes and I think that is subconsciously slowing me down too.
Anyone have any tips on staying motivated or forcing yourself to push through?

Sometimes, when I just have to buckle down and do it (usually a deadline is involved), I give myself a "carrot". A reward at the end of the illustration/task/project for getting it done.
That usually works the best for me.
Made this example of a WPA poster for my students. We are going to be making posters like these to learn digital art.
