Day 4 - Spell - Got to go to sleep now
-
ARGH Inktober is already a bust for me! So sad! I did the whole thing last year and here it is Day 4 and I am already 2 days behind. Maybe I'll do some and catch up...but I've got so much on the art plate right now. You all are rocking it! These look great!

Day 5 - Chicken!
-
Hi all!
Just a short question concerning your process -
How do YOU get your drawings done?
For my part, the best results (for me personally) came out when coming up with the idea and doing the sketching in the morning and the inking in the evening. I find it hard to come up with an idea late in the day.
How abou YOU?Best,
Chris -
Day 5 outdoor sketching...I absolutely love sketching people on the beach or at swimming pools. ItΒ΄s like a free model session....with lots of children as a bonus.
-
@aska This made me smile. I really like the tree texture too, very cool!
-
Day 5 : so true story- when I was a kid I asked my mom for a chicken for my birthday and letβs just say I was a wee bit disappointed But who gives a 7 year old an entire roast chicken? My mom thatβs who!
-
Here's my latest Inktober illustration. Done mainly with inktense blocks and pen. The red is watercolour... I just really wanted that colour! Like most illustrations, this didn't come out the way I had it invisioned in my mind, I'll have to try again...

@miss-beans thank you! thats probably the nicest tree i have ever drawn
-
@crud42 I started some thumbnails during September but didnβt complete for all the prompts and as it turns out my ideas evolved anyway as I start the actual rough sketch. Normally, for analog ones, I sketch in colorerase pencil night before then ink the day of. I will be doing some digital ones too though cos I still need to practise to get better at that.
No doubt I will have to change things up soon cos my October is going to get busier. -
@miss-beans I love this!!

Day 5: Deer
-
@eli You gotta keep it simple.
I did two SMALL ones last night because I knew I would be busy today. You can do it! I have faith in you. -
@crud42 I sketch out some ideas for the next day right after I finish inking the one for the day Iβm on. So I can dive right in when I get a free moment the next day. This has been happing in the evening. I didnβt plan it that way. Itβs happing organically.

Day 3 & 4 for me...
Honestly Inktober has been kicking my butt. I've been staying up waayyyy too late at night to finish these. I have to get a better handle on it this weekend and come up with my sketches and a plan.
-
@eli Thank you
-
@eli Just do what you can and want to, that's my Inktober motto. Last year I got frustrated I wasn't doing one every day, life gets in the way. This year I wasn't going to do any, but ended up with a few so far. At least we can be inspired by all the great artwork being posted.

@crud42 I do it whenever I have time Having two kids, work and school makes it hard to set a time to do inktober
