@Aleksey That is an intriguing idea to go opposite! I really like the line on the bird in the too small cage. One question I have about the thumbnail is the dark curved line extending from the witch over the pot. My first thought was that is a handle to the cauldron, and there is a tangent problem, the next was that it is her arm extending over the pot and then tossing something in, but the line goes past the pot... what was your plan for that spot?

@juliepeelart That's the opening in the chimney. The big cylinder with the broom leaning on it is a big stone/brick chimney. The big curve line is a placeholder for the firebox/mantle of the chimney. Everything will be clearer in the next sketch I make.

@Aleksey Sounds like a great idea. I'd suggest allowing the viewer to see inside the pot that's stirring. Then you could have some of the 50 things as floating ingredients in the potion.

just a suggestion
I love the witch character. It's like she's pulled out of out fairy tales...or mayby from some Terry Pratchett novel

The real struggle is gonna be fitting stuff on those back shelves. I might instead do stuff hanging on the wall instead of shelved objects.
