@Neha-Rawat Oh this is devastating. I like how you were sparing in your details of the hospital room. My eye went to the edge of the bed and I thought "wait, that's not a normal bed frame." Then my eye went up to the IV bags, which are nice and simple. And the contrast to the Xmas decorations. Oof. This is going to be impactful. Looking forward to see this develop.

I really like the composition and the sketch. It will be fun to see your final piece! Maybe she's overhearing good news, not bad 😰! I'll hope so anyway!

@deborah-Haagenson I just looked at her facial expression and it does't look like good news - Great Job!

              Hi everyone

Somehow I was more excited about making this illustration before I started it. It looked really good in my head but I’m. It convinced that I’ve translated it like that in the drawing. I’m not sure about the lighting and values . Do you think the emotion is coming through in terms of the lighting and expressions?
Any suggestions on how I can make the background character better?
              Feedback always appreciated! πŸ™‚

@Neha-Rawat i think the lighting is very good.πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘
The Xmas tree is throwing me off though. Environment wise. I don’t know if a large tree would be allowed in a hospital room so it makes me question where she is. Maybe toned down the Xmas stuff (small tree in a table?) and add a bit more hospital room equipment. Every hospital room I’ve been in is crowded with bins. Hazmat, trash, linen etc. A hazmat bin with the hazmat symbol in the dark corner behind the door might help emphasize β€œhospital”. This is a very emotional piece. Looking forward to seeing the end product. πŸ‘πŸ™‚

Thanks for the feedback @burvantill . Adding more hospital elements actually made a lot of sense. I don’t know why I was giving the tree so much importance.
Also, I realised the value of the characters outside the room was way off and I’ve actually increased contrast on them and I think it looks much better.
                  What do you guys think?

@Neha-Rawat The new equipment replacing the tree is perfect; very well done.

I'm struggling with the dad's posture. I can't quite figure out what plane he's on. The might be a good one to have a couple of friends pose for to get some good reference.

This fits the prompt perfectly, the little girl is just adorable, and you can tell exactly what they're all thinking and feeling. The Christmas decorations and another powerful layer of emotion, and I just love it!

This has come a long way, so cool to see it developed. Love the changes you have done with the room decorations.
