This is redo of a piece from an unfinished project....Anyone who has been on the forums for a few years will be quite sick of my OZ stuff by now i'm sure but i have not touched it for quite a while - i got stuck on Glinda and then decided my older work in the series was not so good....i stopped checking my website too - recently i looked at my work and thought .."hey, these aren't too bad" - so i thought i would try again to finish the project
Possibly Finally finished Glinda
-
I really wanted to share this little piece I did in my sketchbook today!
-
@alisa I'm loving all these characters SO MUCH!! They're so sweet and precious - I can't wait to see what other adventures they go on.
-
Just popping on quickly to say my Art of Up and Art of Brave, bravely came ashore from Great Britain. We were expecting it to come from California -who knew! I just open up Up and I am reading and gazing endlessly one page at a time and not looking ahead. Brave is still wrapped up.
Also if you guys don't know, today is the first day, apparently of International Tea Day!!!! So have a cup of tea today and maybe tea with the live video if that's still on today.
-
Last mermay piece I'll be able to do I think. Kinda went more fantastical on this with gills and a more underwatery creature than normal girl with a tail kinda thing.
-
@demotlj I LOVE these birds!!!!!
-
@bradyblack Thank you so much. Painting birds has been a real help for me when I can't seem to find the creative energy to do an entire illustration.
-
@korilynneillo Thank you SO much for your sweet message!!! It made me smile loads:)
-
Everyone wanted to come along!
-
I’ve been practicing digital stuff in procreate whenever I get the chance. maybe in a couple months I’ll be comfortable enough with it to start putting stuff in my portfolio.
-
@burvantill I love procreate. It is so intuitive and natural.
-
@chrisaakins it is! Sometimes I feel like I’m back in college painting with oils again. But without the horrendous mess. And smell. Lol.
-
a bunch of pencil drawing, traditional and digital pencils. What is your go-to tool for pencil drawings?
-
@xin-li These are delightful! I generally gravitate to traditional. But when I was using Corel essentials I loved their pencil.
-
@xin-li i love these.
I have a mechanical Pentel pencil that is rubber banded to my sketchbook. I’ve had it for decades. If it ever breaks I’m going to be very unhappy. -
I am gonna try and draw every day this summer. I asked my Facebook friends and family to send me free photo references and I would use the drawing techniques I am reviewing on SVSlearn to draw them and they can feel free to share them.
Here us today's WIP:
And the finished work:
-
I found a vintage picture of a little girl standing on a crocodile and was inspired to illustrate my own take:
-
This is so lovely! It made me laugh so much, thank you for creating it!
-
@xin-li These are fantastic! My go to pencil for sketching is a simple HB, because I can keep it light and cut down on smudging, since most of my drawings will be inked over and cleaned up after the drawing is done.
-
This was my entry for scbwi “masks” prompt. It was a hard prompt to make cute! I turned the masks into butterflies. Still trying to smash some texture in there as my newest sort of expiriment with style.
And now I’m finishing up my mermay but cant decide which color scheme to go with . That’s the trouble , at least for me, with digital! I can change things so fast I get stuck going back and forth and can’t decide
I am sure it’s not just me!
I think I might go with bottom left. I feel like blue is too predictable for water and sky, but I had originally wanted a night time scene so they’re darker. Anyhow I’ll figure it out in the end lol
