 And the finished color version

Today's prompt was 'a young pharoah'. Dunno how those bodyguards are balancing that litter :smiling_face_with_open_mouth_closed_eyes:

I've been doing a fabric study and dialing in a new CSP workflow over the past couple of days.

@Braden-Hallett Their fists sure say it all haha. And it's real nice you included one of those crop cutting swords -roughly the size of the that kid's...sorry I mean "pharaohs" head hahaha. I'm okay, I'm done. hahaha. I'm okay, I'm done.

@Heather-Boyd Fun fact, the khopesh (the sword ) was actually patterned after an axe. It was sharpened on the outside of the curve like an axe, not the inside like a sickle. ) was actually patterned after an axe. My entry in the SCBWI Draw This monthly contest. Prompt is Muddy. How much trouble do you think they are in?

-

 @burvantill Love it! Good luck.

Had a chance to traditionally paint my cats a few nights ago. I think it turned out better than I was expecting.
-

@burvantill I've gotta get my rear in gear and do an entry for that prompt... I love all the muddy smeared paw prints

Just trying to produce more finished work so I can evaluate it and have it evaluated online. This is a waiter I saw in a (coffee) bar in a tiny mountain hamlet near Aosta, Italy. He looked fierce and eccentric and I thought he might make a good character. I am always torn, though, between whether to exaggerate for comic effect or whether to keep things relatively realistic. I didn't have much time to be on the forums while I was taking the Backgrounds course, but now I'll try to start posting and commenting again ļø. ļø.

I'm working on some illustrations for a doula who is doing some parenting workshops.

@Braden-Hallett I am so impressed by your work volume. You seem to produce more than one great thing a day. Iām curious, do you have a day job or school? Iām trying to decide if Iām just a slacker or not in comparison . .
-

@burvantill Thanks I don't have a day job right now. I spent a few years saving up some runway so for the past year and the next year I'm just gonna be drawing (apart from small, random freelance work) I don't have a day job right now. @Braden-Hallett Bravo! Iām so jealous . .
-

@Braden-Hallett You're going to get grilled now, because I decided last night to ask you some questions too. -
I noticed that you said those are for warm up. Your characters look pretty well worked out. Do you set a time limit, or do you just go until you're happy?
-
Are those prompts from a random generator, or are you following some sort of public challenge?
The most recent 3 Point Perspective podcast made me think about focusing better on things that are relevant to my goals (which is art for my games). Character creation is a huge part of that, so what you are doing with those prompts seems right up my alley. Think I'm going to do a sub-par version of this to get the creative juices flowing each morning. Thanks for the inspiration!

@Braden-Hallett Such luxury! (Don't take notice of this little jealous monkey.) This is so cool to hear that you just took a break from everything to go with your passion! You're my hero of the day.
