I've been working on a sticker for my step-daughter of her late dog (shown below). I'm probably going to reposition the dog a little, though, since it's primary purpose is to decorate her cell phone case. Right now it's a 3/4 view of the body, and I think I'm going to adjust it so it's looking from straight on (if that makes sense). I might work on the prompt this month, too, but I need to think of what to draw for it.

Work in progress on this. Think I need to get rid of the moon and put it out out of view where it's at right now wouldn't make the light in the direction I put on the character

Got a rare opportunity to draw at work...creating a series of women in Arizona history for some note cards. Trying my hand at doing it in a Wall Street Journal-esque hedcut style:
Messed up a lot on this first one, but feel like now I know what I need to do to fix the patterns going forward. Helps that these illustrations will only be about 3" square when printed!

I think what I would like to do differently next time is to don't be afraid and ask for bigger timeframe. Im on a tight deadline with the fairy book and also on a tight deadline with my own project (another book, also will be published by a publisher, so I'm under contract there too). I'm now in a situation where there's a possibility I will not be able to deliver on time one of those two projects. And I have few other things I would love to get done. And I won't. Because there's no time. I have my nose buried deep in paper drawing fairies, trying to also squeeze in some monkeys (for the other book), and regretting I was to shy to ask for more time in a first place... Well, that's how I learn, I guess.
BUT - I'm still happy and grateful I have work.

I finished the sticker for my stepdaughter. I had to fix Puppy's ears because I thought they flipped over a little. That's what I get for going from memory.

Some sketches from waiting at the doctor's office with a ballpoint pen. Was practicing some of the bean shapes from the posing characters course
And last night watching a movie with my kids I developed some of them more and this one I liked and might finish up at some point

Hootles rarely tolerated hugs. Nyxy, TODAY AND AT THIS MOMENT was one of those few.
Owls are so much fun to draw.
