How to ink group run through week 6

@chrisaakins These are really good. I like how you did the wood. I was just using lines but your right, there is a texture of grain lines within the wood lines. Nice job
-
@burvantill thanks!
-
@Erin-Cortese wow this is super impressive!
-
@burvantill Whatβs the end of the story? Did the heron actually eat the gopher? And by gopher, do you mean what we mean here in NY by gopher - a woodchuck? I canβt imagine our herons attempting to eat woodchucks. Iβm so intrigued by this story.
-
@burvantill I feel bad for the gopher , but I love your drawings. I really like the contour lines on the small tree and rootball!
-
@Coley Thank you!!
-
@demotlj He ate it. The gophers in California are bigger than a hamster but smaller than a guinea pig, or the size of a large russet potato . He shook it about for a while until it stopped wiggling then swallowed it whole like he would a fish. Itβs amazing to watch them hunt. They move so slow right up until they strike, almost like a snake. And if they miss they act like a cat that fell off a table, βI totally meant to do thatβ
@Erin-Cortese I think you would feel differently if you could see what they do to your yard. -

@chrisaakins Thanks. I hope Braden decides to do the class on light and shadow next because Iβm totally guessing the cast shadows.
We'll see I might do the 'how to draw anything' course since it reinforces a LOT of what we learned here and I think I really need to hammer a lot of this home.
-
I gotta make myself a style sheet for things like rock, wood and such,
-
@Braden-Hallett I'll join just about any class you choose because this has been a great way of learning. Besides, I'm not only learning about drawing, I'm learning about marmots and pocket gophers!
-
Tryin' to put it all together with my dailies
-
This is my last post until October. I am going hiking on mountains. I am bringing a sketchbook so weβll see how much I get accomplished.
Thankyou @Braden-Hallett for starting this group. Iβve had fun and am looking forward everyoneβs inktober projects.
PS Iβm still working out those dang balloons. Lol -
@burvantill Have fun hiking in the mountains!
I'm glad you got a lot out of this course. I think we've all come a long way
-
My extra credit homework β a drawing of my grand-niece. Still not completely happy with the face but it was good practice inking. (In Procreate)
-
@burvantill Love this work. Have fun hiking.
-
@Erin-Cortese amazing work! These all look so good.
-
@burvantill @Erin-Cortese @Braden-Hallett @demotlj @Coley @Bricz-Art @xin-li @Aleksey and anyone else! Bryan the girl now has a class on cross hatching in SVS learn! Remember when we were all frustrated with hatching? Way back when...
-
@chrisaakins I'm gonna check out that course sooner rather than later!
I think from day to day I'm gonna pick a texture to work on and apply it to all the shapes.
Maybe I'll make the shapes bigger...
-
@burvantill I know what you mean about the gophers, this summer I found myself yelling at rabbits for stealing my pea seedlings. I probably sounded like a maniac!
-
@chrisaakins Wow, thanks for sharing! I follow Bryanthegirl and absolutely love her work!
