@TessaW NICE!
-
@jsnzart Gorgeous!
-
@burvantill Thank you.
-
This was originally for the "fresh" prompt for childhood week, but other events came up and I couldn't finish it until now. To this day, my mom can still be found roaming around Oahu in her banana sap stained shirts and army fatigues, seeking out fresh fruit, fresh flowers, and fresh fish.
-
@TessaW Love all your pieces! Very painterly and alive
-
It's always a treat to come here to see @Gary-Wilkinson and @Braden-Hallett 's work. Keep it up guys!
-
@TessaW So cute!
-
@Gary-Wilkinson this is magic and just awesome. If I was a kid Iβd stare at this page forever!
-
@jsnzart Very Nice!
-
@deborah-Haagenson Thank you.
-
Still gotta add some chimney smoke. But I'm happy with this one Big mountain big.
-
@MattBaker This is really awesome in so many ways and does indeed look fun (to draw)! I hope we get to see more of these type of projects from you and I'm always looking for more authentic racial representation in Biblical illustration. love your depiction of his locks!!
-
@carriecopadraws wow, your wizard of oz is fantastic! Also, i looove howls moving castle...all of his movies pretty much. Literally just watched Totoro two days ago aaah, a masterpiece
-
@xin-li wow, funny to see this image here, I just saw it on my instagram feed today? Yesterday? I forget where, but it was for the competition that you had entered. I love your style! The little girl with the umbrella is lovely too. I especially like the inside of the umbrella for some reason...such a satisfying shape with subtle color changes. Lovely!
-
@VeronicaMui hehe. Thanks you so much. The Lotus seeds harvest piece was for a competition - I got a lot of help here in the forum.
I have another image of the little girl in my portfolio, which brough me a project recently, so I thought I would draw her again as a gesture of "thank you" to my own character. One of my art teachers told me that my digital mark-making looks like pastel painting. He suggested me look into Degas -he was specifically talking about the subtle color changes :-). I actually bought a box of soft pastel, and opened it - then I was so intimidated, I went back to iPad
-
Working on sketching every day. Couple more here. Drawing a lot is my current focus
-
@xin-li pastels are a beast! Try them though! Just be ready for a mess and some less than perfect pieces. Paper made especially for pastels will make a world of a difference, they have velvety ones that really hold onto the color
-
@TessaW sweet! Did you start over or just repaint? It looks fantastic!
-
@Coley Thank you! I painted over it. Looking back, it might have been more efficient to just restart from scratch though, because the original was pretty much on one layer. At one point they all had no faces.
-
Omg they look kinda scary with no faces haha. But when they have faces, theyβre really, REALLY cute! Do you normally work in one layer?!
