@Tony-Barber Your color contrast is a joy and I love the way your edges have a slight clunky scissor cut to them. I agree with aprilshin and think some curves might bring this characteristic even more. Have you tried doing one on paper yet? A quick study of these cut out and layered with card stock might help inform your emulations in some odd unanticipated way. Anyways, have fun! These look like a blast!

      Happy creating,
      Tristan

These are adorable! I really like the cut paper look and the simplicity of them. The only thing I'd say is that the purple monster has a less paper texture than the bus or other pieces. But keep creating pieces like this and you'll do really well!

Hey! thanks for the feedback; in response, do mean having some more rounded curves to the clunky scissor look I'm going for?

          Cheers.

The feedback is much appreciated! I think the texture got lost, fighting with the several details of the monster's face.

            Thank you 🙂

@Tony-Barber Yes! I was referring to the clunky cut look. I think it could add some nice variation and make it slightly more realistic in a characterful way that I don't think would detract form the style.

              Have fun!

                Hey all,

I would love some general feedback on my current work. I'm aiming for a sort of a papercut /textured look; building details with the basic shapes. I feel like I'm on to something with these. Any feedback would be great.

                Thanks,

                Tony.

@Tony-Barber I love paper cut and paper cut style animations. They are so fun and engaging. As suggested, I think a drop shadow to lift them up and off the page would be really cute. Great work!

I like it as is. I originally agreed with Nyrryl Cadiz. This sounded like a good Idea but I borrowed one of your designs and tried it out. I think the original is simple, rough, and has a really clean appeal for kids.

                        Good job, keep it up.

PS: My 6 year old son and 8 year old daughter loved them.
