      I've heard them talk about the grey scale thing but I had assumed that applied when I put my character in a scene so I would put light character on dark background or dark character on light background. I didn't know I should have applied that to the character design as well. I didn't even consider the silhouette! I haven't done the character design course yet as I'm still working through the basic level classes. Wow there's a lot to think about. I'm pleased to have finished something though!

      @Geoffrey-Mégardon You have a good point but being a person who has issues using a full range of value I did that to assure I have mid-tones, hi- lites and shadow. I'll try dropping it out to see how he holds up.Thanks:)

      @Janette Yep, he is resting on a ball. I only noticed the problem because my girlfriend mistook it for a huge belly. It hadn't crossed my mind before at all but I can see how you would make the mistake, especially since the ball does not really fit into the narrative. I will think on a solution. Maybe I can get the fat-belly idea to work 🙂

      Trying to figure out if I’m missing anything or need to fix anything. Little odd playing around in a different style with different brushes.

      Ok he’s done! I contemplated having paint on his close up but went for it in the end.

      Hi, first timer for the contest. Just started illustration about six months ago. These are 3 images of about 20 of my sketchbook pages so far. I have learned so much just in the last ten days. My vision of Albert is he loves superman and wears his cape everywhere and broke his arm due to misadventure but it doesn't slow him down a bit. Feedback greatly appreciated. Thanks, Steph

      @Oana Thank you for the wonderful advice! I will definitely use my next few pieces to really dive into less saturated colors and limited color pallets since that seems to be the most noticed problem.

      @ajillustrates thank you!! I was thinking about the part in the brief where he's 'adjusting' to a new life
      @RachelArmington I hope they wouldn't find him too gross😅

      @K-Flagg It was a lot of fun adding in detail and will be updating as it goes.

      @Kim-Rosenlof Thanks Kim, It was a challenge for sure. It's one thing to see the idea in your head, another, to pull it off. Almost gave up, but in the end, I'm pleased with it.

      @TaniaGomesArt LOL yes! I think we need to write to someone to complain! I might create the character in this style, even though tht was for the prompt. I need to explore this style more. Thank you for your encouragement 🙂

      @ajillustrates Haha...I'll try it! Lighting is not my strong suit so I'm unsure I'll pull it off. Worth experimenting with though - thanks!

      Thanks for the comments! I ended up throwing in one more goblin and darkening the ones in the foreground a bit as well as adding some additional highlights to the otters to bring some more focus to them. If anything else really sticks out or could use some improvement please let me know!

      @Morten-Christiansen love the hat! I didnt mean redesign the character, I just meant render out the detail for your focal point. But well done.
