I really like the new version, and i dont think it's a problem, that the rock is kind of the same size as the boat man, in my oppinion. but you kan still play around with is as much as you like.

The rock just below the boat catched my eye though becaus it just tips the boat, maybe you could make it a bit smaller or a bit bigger?

Which parts of it are you thinking of reworking digitally? Meaning: Which critique would you give yourself?
I often only see things I would like to change a few days later, that's why I like to work on a lot on illustrations parallel, so all of them take a long time from start to finish: A lot of time I can use to re-analyse them in sketch or detailed sketch status and change things around.

Love your moose character and your overall style. I like the mountains - gives a sense of place.

Is the mountain on the opposite hill is meant to be fire ravaged? (looks a bit ashy and dead) Or heavily logged so it's very sparsely populated with trees? Because that's a bit how it looks to me. Almost as if the moose is in danger of losing his environment which might well be part of the story! If that's the case, I'd say the mountain is an integral part of the story. It's just a question of when you choose to reveal it.

EDIT: I've since seen your chain saw sketch - so heavily logged it is! Perhaps need to make it clearer that it's logging that's taking place - eg show some tree stumps. At the moment the mountain looks fire ravaged to me. The rather sick looking tree closest to the moose - is that meant to be logged as well? Perhaps a healthy tree would be a better contrast?

@AngelinaKizz thanks so much for the feedback, much appreciated. I was thinking the same thing - regarding trimming the descriptions. Robert Munsch was definitely an inspiration in the writing (hence some of the descriptions, which are intentionally repeated a few times throughout the story). I remember hearing the 'show don't tell' mentality as well and it's definitely something I've been weighing/battling with given the writing style. I think I'll go back to some of my test reading groups and ask about that now, maybe I can get rid of the descriptions...

"Upon entering the grocery store, Melissa realized this experience was going to be very different"
Another that I thought was really good was "this joke is getting expensive"

I love the idea, the warped perspective is a really cool idea. One thing I'd work on is sketching in a perspective grid so that each item on the wall follows that warping perspective as it goes down the hallway. Even though the perspective is intentionally wacky, the items still need to follow the overall warped lines for it to look right.
