Thank you @K-Flagg . I am glad that adding the butterfly gave the effect that I wanted @Mari1-9Munive This character is starting to have a life of it's own in my head, I think I am going to make some more paintings with him, maybe even a story or a comic. I have a couple of ideas in mind.

@CLCanadyArts Love it! Reminds of my pencil collection I had in grade school, back when they had a school supplies cart you could buy things from for a few cents.

@Joe-Koz yeah, the flatness of the colors could really work for you. There are a ton of children's books out there with flat colors. But these styles seem to rely heavily on hitting that color balance and getting the values just right.

Since you're working in Photoshop, try playing around with your color palette. Working on separate layers gives you that freedom -- if something doesn't work, it's as simple as deleting that layer. You can always go back to what you had before.

I feel like this is my best new illustration in a while. Think I will do a bit more with light dappled on the grass, very happy with all the bunnies especially the artist bunnnies.

Update on the master study. This is kind of proving how, even when we copy other artist’s work, you will draw it differently. My hand naturally drew the elements one size too big haha.

I suspect this was done traditionally then finished digitally but I have figured a way to fake the textures on Procreate. It just takes a lot of conscious work 😅

The biggest take away was really the shape language. I’m not sure if I want to incorporate it in my style but it’s another tool in my tool box 😋

I've been watching a lot of Angry Mikko. He uses layers however suggested that it is good practice to try one layer.

@doro_thea Yep, I do that too! These comments are really eye opening...I do sketches underneath my ink and always look at reference, so if those are the first questions I keep getting asked, then obviously, even after practicing art and illustration for 10ish years I’m still not where I should be. Which is a whole different conversation because it seems like no matter how much I keep going back to basics, there’s still some sort of road block for me!

I’m hoping this year I can start loosening up.

This one is good but I think your original design has a lot more personality and creativity.

@NessIllustration @Nyrryl-Cadiz I'm deciding to move into the direction that has the cut paper, splitting the 2 landscapes. I worked on the actual cut to try and get it less perfectly straight and more organic. what do you think? I'm leaning towards D1 and D2 because I like the pose he's in and the interaction with the environment.
