Help Wanted: Redrawing a portfolio piece

@kayleenartlover I like where this is going!

@kayleenartlover while I like this pov, I think Alice is too confident in her Body position. I think she’d be scared with the angry queen coming at her, and I think you can push her gesture to display what we can’t see on her face more.

@kayleenartlover Love this one!

Not quite sure how I can make Alice look more scared? Her hair is gonna cover her shrugged shoulders... -

@kayleenartlover said in Help Wanted: Redrawing a portfolio piece:
So I made a character design for the Queen of Hearts in a Rococo style, and Lee White critiqued it in the "How to Fix Your Art" series. So now I'm picking it back up and gonna redraw it. But I need to know if it needs any changes or additions to be an interesting picture.
It's great that you're revisiting your character design! To make it an interesting picture, consider adding intricate details to the Queen of Hearts' costume and incorporating elements that reflect her personality. Enhance the composition with dynamic poses or a compelling background. Experiment with color schemes and lighting to evoke the Rococo style. Overall, strive for a visually captivating portrayal that captures the essence of the Queen of Hearts.

update: Alice is practically done, only took 4 hours hooray!

@kayleenartlover good job! Keep at it. Was just thinking how would it be if you would have Alice looking down or away a bit more? Since we don't really see her shoulders, since they are covered by her hair, she comes across more defiant than scared.

It’s so close to being done! I just need to figure out how to add a pattern detail to the skirt and see what type of lighting/shadows would look best if needed for this illustration.

@kayleenartlover this thread is so cool - all your changes are making this so so good, and it’s wonderful to follow along with the edits!
