@lizardillo Yeah, that looks great! And I think you're right, lowering the camera may create more drama because we'll see the wasps descending down onto the hero some more, while we'd be closer to her frustration with being stuck in the muck. And I never use a perspective grid, so no worries there

Really interesting! Loving that you’re sticking with your bee character.

One little suggestion: instead of looking at the honey, have the bee looking at the antagonist, as that is the greater threat. If I was in their place, while I would pay some attention to being stuck in honey, I think most of my attention would be on the hornet army.

Either way, you’ve got another winner here!

@Melissa-Bailey-0 I turned the head around and it looked much better thanks.

...then that got me thinking... as he was looking at the hornets I thought about what @Georgios-Christopoulos said about turning the tables on the enemy.

In YET ANOTHER change of direction I have decided that he is attacking the hornets and the hornets are in such a sticky mess they are retreating.

I have one last decision to make and that’s whether the honey is being flung at the hornets via the catapult he has on his belt (hopefully no one will notice it’s about three times it’s original size) or by jumping on the end of his honey stick (‘with a huge pile of honey on there that he was carrying in his backpack (bought from the Buzz Inn) - hence the empty jars.

Thank you for such a team effort with this.

@Valerie-Light Thank you. I had never designed a human character, only not very stylised animals or birds. I can't draw people or faces. I had originally tried to make the character a boy or girl to try and force myself to create a stylised child, but one thing led to another it ended up as a bee! I think I'm destined never to draw humans.

This is Buzzbee's last adventure. He's retiring after this prompt.

Looking forward to CBP too, we're going to have fun. I still have no idea if children's books are for me but it's worth trying.

After a few more rounds I've settle on this (give or take a few extra flowers, some size and positioning tweaks to try and make it read better and the foreground is a bit messy with too much stuff). I'm away at the weekend so I only have a few hours to do it between now and then. I messed about so much I've not left much time

The battle is going on in an idyllic english meadow a bit like the two hares in the top right pic (as we are encouraged to plant wildflowers in the UK to help the bees).

@lizardillo This is looking really nice so far! Besides the great character designs, I really love how clear your silhouettes are. I can already imagine how cool it's gonna look when it's coloured. Excited to see it when it's done !

Thank you all for all of the help this month. It’s truly appreciated. Here is the final. I’ve struggled a bit so it’s not quite how I wanted it in the end, I also lightened it a bit at the last minute and probably shouldn’t have. I’ve not done many full environments do this is a learning curve. Thanks once again.

I’m away in a campervan so hopefully this will upload from my phone.

Your style is so cute and so consistent, @lizardillo . I like the way you're controlling value from foreground to background. You've done a great job of creating a narrative that builds as it moves back in space. Nice work!
