I just want to thank you for your feedback and I completely agree about the style issue- something I’m still trying to work on. Your portfolio is so cohesive- I see how important this is. I finally signed up for svs, hopefully it’s something I can improve on. Thank you again for your response and advice.

It's typical to get laid off for anywhere for a few days to a few months every year. So I don't sweat it. It's basically a paid vacation bc of UI.

@lizardillo good to know I’m not the only one! I keep thinking back to my decision (influenced by my parents) to study something more ‘academic’ than art at university and how that led me one way in my career when I probably should have gone another way. Anyway, it’s not too late, and I’m glad I’m on the right track now, even though there’s sooo much to learn!
I imagine your graphic design experience is a good starting point for getting into illustration, so good luck to you. Hopefully see you around the forum!
