@griffin thanks so much Griffin. I agree that the bear had too much prominence. I spent the last few days making adjustments on the piece, and last night I reduced the size of the bear and put him deeper into shadow. I’m still working on tweaks, and figure the next 2 weeks, I’ll keep looking for things to improve on it.

@stayhomejoe You're really good. For a kid book it's best to make your hero a child - not necessarily human but young.

I'm not getting any Godzilla vibes, looks great to me! 🙂 My only other thought is that she could be holding her head in a kind of exasperated way? But I like the way her paws fill the space and lead you into the scene, so probably perfect as it is. 🐯 Good luck! Looking forward to seeing the finished piece.

I am realizing that all the details I added will be very very small to paint. The paper I am using is 8 inches wide so things are minuscule. I don’t have a bigger paper to use right now, so I will try it at that size. If not, maybe I will get a bigger sheet.

@mymightypencil I really love this!! I think the additions you made to have him be a child tiger excited about his friends coming is poignant. It’s like the parents wouldn’t take them because he’s a predator. It can be likened to so many things where parents have issues with what the children (or other parents) are and the kids are so much more understanding - religion, race, etc - at least when they are younger.

@larue well you were lucky then I can’t even find piece in my own bathroom!😭
