@nyrrylcadiz I have been going through @Lee-White ’s How To Make Money in Illustration series after reading his responses here. If you haven’t watched those I highly recommend them. You won’t get to a quick answer for questions like this but if you go through the series doing the homework I think pricing will be less intimidating because you will have so many other things in place already. He covers usage in that class but it’s also covered for a different market in the Art Licensing class.

@Phil-Cullen @Aleksey Yea so i guy around the way is starting up a comic studio. He asked me if i could create a character that is a hybrid between venom and sabertooth who comes from a talisman that a (miles morales) kid named adrian has.

He would say, i'm writing everything down that everyone has done. haha
I even sign the character over to him.

I'm not burnt about it. I am just asking because i am in the spot where he wants me to do more for him and i am waiting for the basic compensation. Average cost to create a character and a 36 panel web comic. this is just to have an idea of what to say when he asks me to do more.

I am going to try to find a sure fire method in sharing photos but in the meantime i'll have to edit a lot.

Libraries are the best! My brother lives in Connecticut where the library is literally the community center: gardening class, yoga, print-making... so cool!
I will check out what my local library has to offer.

Im just starting to take on art related work like Logos, thank you for your order cards etc, more graphic than illustration but Im wondering about insurance here in the UK.

I want to know Im covered if something goes wrong. Ive looked at Coverly which seems reasonable but can you recommend what you use?

@Lee-White @Jake-Parker So I just went to the SVS Store and noticed that the shirts are sold out. Not sure how long it has been like this, but that naturally has me asking the question, will there be more items added to the store at any point?

On another note, if there is, I'm curious to know if there might be opportunities for SVS members to contribute art for more merchandise options?

@xin-li It depends on what I use it for. I sell my art on Society6 and the 'lowest size' they suggest is 6500 pixels 300dpi. Since I also post my work on Instagram I usually make it a square.

If I were to enter a contest I might start with the square and change it to landscape or portrait, but the shortest size will never be lower than 6500 pixels. In case I do want to upload it to Society 6 it's still valid.

@hannahmccaffery Actually it was $2000 as he's American! But still pretty good prices. I think that's normal for an original drawing. But yes as he sells more he can put prices up. Printing multiple copies as a limited edition brings the prices down and open editions are similar to selling posters.
