The BUZZ-INN wip

I think the chimneys are working. Just like the whole rest of the thing.
-
This is completely charming. I really like your line work here, and I love seeing how you worked through silhouettes and roughs to get to this point.
I like the 2 little chimneys at the top- lots of busy, angled, active things to look at. My one comment is that the attachment of the structure to the branch above looks a little awkward, mainly because the top curve of the structure and the lower right part of the branch share a tangent that makes the branch seem squeezed.

Hi All,
Thanks for the feedback. I have drawn back over with a thinner brush to try and keep the detail crisper.
@Kevintreaccar I actually deleted the chimneys before seeing this but I have added them back in as chimney 'flower' pots. @Valerie-Light I have had a look at the branch connection again and gone back to a string loop to give a bit of space between the branch. Thanks for pointing this out. Hope this looks a little better.
Thanks again everyone. It's a race to colour it now but I have really enjoyed this (eventually - after all of the frustrated revisions ). The wooden cross beams will go on last, they may be a bit too much.
Looking forward to having a good look through the prompt thread later and seeing everyone's entries.
-
@lizardillo I don't know how the colours will go, but I am Pretty sure this will be a winning piece. Congrats in advance!
-
@Georgios-Christopoulos thank you. Iโm not sure if Iโve put too much on here to be honest, but Iโve enjoyed myself creating it. I love yours too. That shark on the top of the lighthouse has such a great expression.
-
The finished article. Thanks for your feedback all, it's really appreciated.

I hope you don't mind but I just wanted to say thank you so much for all of the feedback, support and encouragement. For someone just finding their feet and trying to start a career in something she's always loved, it really means a lot.โ I've popped this on instagram but I just wanted to say it in person here.
As someone not sure if how to approach potential clients I have found working to live briefs so useful and seeing everyone else's approach to the same brief is so great. I had not realised how wonderful it is to be part of a supportive and talented community who help and learn from each other.
I would really love to be able to have all three prompts to put up on my portfolio site (when I rework it) so I can be one step closer to plucking up the to courage to pitch for some paid work in this new direction I am trying to go in. I have never drawn a full environment before so I may ask for a little help with this month's prompt if that is ok. I will try to help others as much as I can but I am always a little nervous about posting a comment. I'm a bit of a British introvert sorry.
Drinks are on me in the Buzz Inn!! โ
CHEERS!!
::EDIT:: As Kevin has pointed out, he does look like he's drinking beer. Please be assured he is giving you a pint of non-alcoholic nectar. I should have thought about that #rookieerror
-
@lizardillo Ummmm, is your โyoung travelerโ old enough for that drink?
-
@Kevin-Treaccar It's nectar as it has no alcohol.
-
@lizardillo I was so happy that the Buzz Inn got the win; it's an incredible design and beautiful piece! Looking forward to your May illustration, and crossing my fingers for you to secure the hat-trick.
-
Your process and final piece was a joy to see! Love, love, love the little details and humour in this. Outstanding.
-
@Kevin-Treaccar I've updated the post. Thanks for pointing that out, I should have put some flowers on the glass. Oops
-
@lizardillo Haha. Good. I was just trying to make sure you didn't get arrested. I don't want to miss your May entry because you were to busy being in jail for giving alcohol to a bee minor.
-
@Kevin-Treaccar Don't worry - I don't think @lizardillo would be looking at jail time, as that's just a mis-bee-meanor
-
Congrats on your victory! It was well deserved
-
@ajillustrates best to be careful, we don't want any bad bee-haviour
-
@lizardillo or is that bad beehive-yer.
