After trying some styles I feel most comfortable now with scanned line art (I don't have a tablet yet) and coloring digitally. Because I work with a mouse, I prefer to keep coloring in a more "simple" way. I also love traditional looks, particular water colors in the background, but for this I will wait till I have a tablet. 🙂

I like your concept a lot and you've done a great job on your lighting! I agree with Steve that she looks a bit stiff. I was thinking with the way her hip is propped and should is dropped maybe her empty hand would look better lower toward her body. Just a thought. 🙂

I love characters and the story line going on here! The way you did the magic is refreshing to me, compared to floating items being encased in color.

The only thing I'd say is that the background is really square on, and seems to take away from the dynamic a little. If you weren't going to change the angles maybe just add some good shading on the wall to focus the eye a little more and add contrast.

@Will-Terry I knew what you meant. I will get a reference but I don't think yours is horrible it gives me a good idea of what to do!! I really do appreciate your taking the time to help me it means so much!!

Somehow I missed this entire thread, which is a bummer cause these are DOPE! Nice job. I love your woodcut look. The only thought I have (and this may totally be unecessarily picky) is I kind of want to see the back of the boat go completely off the page. That little shape between the wave and the boat is drawing my attention for some reason. Anyway it's a killa illu-stration.

I like the inking job on this one Flabiano. My eyes are drawn to the top of the chopper being 3D but the bottom portion seems flat. I think you nailed the inking on this piece. Keep up the great work.

A cute piece with lovely color selection. Though if your colors where a little more vivid it could lift the piece to another level.
