Are you a member of the AOI? They help with contracts.
No, I'm not. I'm not based in the UK and will probably become a member in IO (German). They also do help with contracts, but I fear I'll have to postpone my membership until I can afford it.
Thank you for the links! I already knew the second one, but didn't find response there for my case.

@Meta I'm not convinced that usage rights should be any different if the project is in Africa rather than Europe or America. Go with an industry standard that you are comfortable with. Consider that they are planning to expand to distribution in many different countries in your proposal. But I'd do it fast if I were you. This is delaying your contract, and all the work you're doing now, you're doing it completely unprotected.
I am not worried about delaying the contract because the project is run by a friend of mine whom I trust. But it doesn't make it easier to set a fee π
I was writing messages with her today to get some more details. She wrote: "We are likley to print thousands of books (like 100 000) but all are printed at cost price with 0 profit as this is a charity initiative. We make 0 from the printing of the books and we put 'not for sale' on them/ Selling them would be another matter. I guess so we would probably need a rule for each. Though we have no plan to sell" and "we plan to print at 60 cents per book (euro price) or less hopefully".
Whoa ... I didn't know this would be so big! Any advice?
